Scabies is a parasitic infection and it usually spread by physical contact in Ayurveda, it is known as Kachchhu.
Usually, scabies affects the thin skin areas below the collar line. The interior auxiliary folds inside of the elbows, the ulnar side of the wrist joint and hands and the clefts of the fingers are the sites commonly affected on the upper limb. On the trunk, the sites most commonly are female breasts, the abdomen, the male genital organ and buttocks. In the lower limb, the thigh, ankles and feet are generally affected. There are itching papules and it may be marked by scratching, inflammation, pus formation and eczema.
Arogyavardhini vati, gandhaka rasayan, khadirarishta, mahamanjishtadi kashaya and rasamanikya are the ayurvedic preparation for scabies.
