VIRECHANA: COMPLETE PURGATION OF BODY TOXINS

The process in which unwanted tissues are untied from the body through controlled purgation is called Virechana. Pitta rests in the naval region of our body. Virechana is said to be the best treatment to defeat the accumulation of Pitta. PROCEDURE

The treatment lasts for 10 – 15 days.

1) Poorvakarma (preparative procedure), the preparatory procedure; is to be performed before the main therapy, which is includes Deepan-Pachan followed by Snehapan for 3-7 days as per the nature of bowel of the patient until achieving features of adequate oleation. This is followed by Abhyang(massage) and Swedana (sudation) for next 3 days.

2) Pradhankarma (main Procedure), which means administration of virechna drug as per the diseases, the patient is observed for symptoms 0f appropriate virechna.

3) Paschatkarma (postoperative procedure), also known as samsarjankarma, in which the patient is advised for specific diet for 3 to 7 days.
